The Difference Your Nursery’s Fundraising Makes

HELPING TO MAKE LIFE LIGHTER FOR CHILDREN

We believe that every child should have the chance to thrive and be the best they can be.

Your support helps us to be there for children in your local area, changing lives where the need is greatest.

ALIYANA’S STORY

At just 9 months old, Aliyana was diagnosed with a muscle weakness called Hypotonia. On top of this, it was later found that she had rare genetic condition with the potential to seriously impact her cognitive ability and other significant aspects of her health.

In and out of hospital throughout her early life, Aliyana’s parents felt helpless and at a loss as to how they could support their daughter – until a healthcare professional told them about a BBC Children in Need funded project, Playskill.

The family began attending Playskill’s weekly sessions. As a result, Aliyana, now a bubbly 3 year old, has been able to develop quicker than expected. Playskill even helped her to take her first steps and to learn Makaton sign language, allowing her to communicate with her loved ones. What’s more, the project has provided key emotional support for the rest of the family.
