The Money Heroes Programme

BBC Children in Need, HSBC UK and Young Enterprise’s financial education brand Young Money, partnered to deliver the Money Heroes programme. This programme provided a package of support to help organisations develop and deliver financial education to children aged 3-11 years old. HSBC UK funded this initiative.

Money Heroes was delivered to organisations who receive BBC Children in Need funding. These voluntary organisations, from across the UK, included after school and sports clubs, organisations working with care leavers, youth clubs, and Home-Start family centres. In total, 96 organisations received support, with 284 project workers being trained.

Young Enterprise adapted the programme to ensure resources were accessible and in multiple formats to allow organisations to deliver in the most appropriate way. Organisations also received training and mentoring from Young Enterprise, as well as a flexible grant of £1,000 from BBC Children in Need.

We are proud to have partnered with HSBC and Young Enterprise for this programme, which made a positive difference to the way in which project workers were able to support children they work with around financial education. This was particularly important during the cost-of-living crisis in supporting families to talk about its impact.
