Ten on-the-spot fundraising challenges
Whatever you do for fun, turn it into a sponsorship-worthy challenge by going further, longer, bigger or brighter. Here’s some fun ideas for challenging yourself to a SPOTacular on-the-spot challenge!
Whichever idea you pick, keep your energy up with these easy Pudsey biscuits, and make sure to look the part with our handy SPOTacular dress up ideas.
1. Dance-a-thon
Dig out a disco ball, nominate a DJ and dance the night away. Get sponsored to throw shapes from dusk till dawn, or challenge yourself to learn a new routine everyday.
2. Juggle-a-thon
Get sponsored to learn a little a day or tackle it out in one long session. If you’ve already got the skills then why not try juggling for longer, or throwing something a bit different?
3. Chess-a-thon
Find a gaming partner, brush up on your logic skills and get ready to take on a mammoth chess session. You could even get family and friends together for a full day’s tournament.
4. Music-a-thon
Why not try learning that instrument you’ve always dreamed of playing? Get sponsored to practice every day, with a final talent show at the end. Or if you’re already musical, get sponsored to perform for the day. You could even try learning some of our big BBC Children in Need singles from over the years!
5. Keepy-uppy-a-thon
With the World Cup just around the corner, get yourself in full football mode by practicing your keepy-uppys! Whether you’re already a pro or a complete novice, get sponsored to learn every day or in one big football fest. You could even get friends and family involved, competing to see who can keep going for the longest.
6. Hula-a-thon
Most people can manage one or two circles before the hoop crashes to their ankles, but get sponsored to do more! Once you’ve mastered one hoop, add in another – perhaps around your legs or on your arm. You could even ask a friend to join and coordinate. Who knows, you might be joining the circus by the end of it!
7. Skip-a-thon
Here’s one that’s likely to see the kids beating the adults! But whatever your age, skipping is such an easy way to challenge yourself, whether it’s seeing how long you can keep going, or challenging yourself to learn a new move. You could even get family and friends involved to learn a routine!
8. Read-a-thon
Read-a-thons aren’t just for beach holidays, they’re great for raising money too! Pick a stack of books you’ve wanted to read for a while, it could be a sci-fi marathon, back-to-back thrillers or even improving your learning and wellbeing with history or mindfulness. Get sponsored to read as many as you can bit-by-bit or all at once in one sitting.
9. Game-a-thon
Whether you’re getting sponsored to take on a board game marathon or you’re battling for top spot on a video game leaderboard, it’s hard to think of how raising money could be more fun! You could even join in with our very own SPOTacular game, Bear Pong.
10. Spin-a-thon
This one’s definitely more fun in a team or with supporters to cheer you on so ask around for friends and family to volunteer. Head down to your local gym, pop on some tunes and get cycling!
