Five challenges to get fundraising around your spot
Whatever you do for fun, turn it into a sponsorship-worthy challenge by going further, longer, bigger or brighter. Here’s some fun SPOTacular challenges to explore your local area and raise money all at once.
Whichever idea you pick, keep your energy up with these easy Pudsey biscuits, and make sure to look the part with our handy SPOTacular dress up ideas.
1. Walk-a-thon
This year, there’s loads of fun walking activities taking place for BBC Children in Need, making it super easy to join in with your own walking challenge! Countryfile Ramble returns again this year with young people across the UK taking on their own epic walk-a-thons to raise money. Find everything you need to join in with your own Ramble here and or check out our brand-new Walk with Joe Wicks events.
2. Nature-a-thon
Take time to appreciate your local area with a nature-a-thon. Get sponsored to head out on a scavenger hunt to your local park or nature reserve. See how many birds, insects and trees you can spot, sketch the nature around you and organise fun crafts like leaf art, with a prize for the best creation. You could even combine with a walk-a-thon for an epic two-part challenge!
3. Bike-a-thon
If you’re feeling inspired by this year’s Team Rickshaw then make sure to join in with Pedal for Pudsey. All wheels are welcome and any distance, whether its round the local park or a cross-country challenge, simply get sponsored and get cycling!
4. Run-a-thon
Whether you’re taking on a marathon, 5K or a route in the shape of everyone’s favourite yellow bear, running is a great way to raise money and explore your local area.
5. Kind-a-thon
If you watched last year’s Surprise Squad on The One Show, you’ll know that good deeds can raise money and spread joy all at once. Why not join in with your own acts of kindness, getting sponsored to do good deeds in your local community? It could be a simple as weeding a garden, litter picking or cleaning your neighbour’s car.
