Leaf Lion
Who needs art supplies when you’ve got nature? This crafty activity lets children use leaves to create an adorable lion picture!
What you will need
- Plenty of clean leaves in all kinds of colours.
- Butcher paper or construction paper in brown
- Sheets of white and black paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Black marker pens
How to do it
- Draw the shape of your lion’s face on the brown paper.
- Draw the lion’s ears on another piece of brown paper.
- This step is for adults only: use scissors to cut out the face shape and ears.
- Draw two small ovals on white paper and two smaller circles on black paper. These will be the lion’s eyes and pupils.
- Draw your lion’s nose on the black paper, too.
- Another adults-only step: cut out the white ovals and black circles, as well as the black nose shape.
- Glue the ears to the lion’s head (stick them to the back – it looks neater!)
- Glue on the white ovals, then the black pupils, then the nose
- Once the glue is dry, draw on the lion’s mouth and whiskers.
- Stick your leaves to the back of your lion’s face. They should be glued around the edge in a circle, with the stems facing into the middle. Use plenty for a thick and bushy mane!
- Once everything is dry, your lion will be ready and looking roar-some!
