Fuelling Potential of 100,000 Children with ASDA
ASDA HAVE RAISED A TOTAL OF OVER £38 MILLION
ASDA and BBC Children in Need have been in partnership since 2000, and have raised over £38 million to date. A huge THANK YOU to ASDA Colleagues, Community Champions and Customers for getting behind BBC Children in Need each and every year!
Asda’s funding has been instrumental in supporting and making a difference to the lives of children and young people across the UK, and over the past 24 years, we have been able to improve the lives of over 250,000 children and young people.
Launched in 2023 by ASDA and BBC Children in Need, the Fuelling Potential campaign continues to boost wellbeing among the UK’s young people and to ensure no child is held back by food insecurity. Fuelling Potential tackles holiday hunger, and also helps to provide respite, support and fun activities at BBC Children in Need holiday sessions in a bid to transform young mental health for the better.
We know it’s vital for young people to have access to nutritious meals and somewhere to feel safe – throughout the holidays and beyond. That’s why ASDA continues to fundraise with its customers and colleagues in support of BBC Children in Need.

This year’s official t-shirt has been created by Tom & Giovanna Fletcher and George at ASDA
All money raised through the sale of the T-shirt will go towards BBC Children in Need’s & ASDA’s Fuelling Potential campaign tackling food insecurity and its commitment to making a difference to young lives for many more children and young people all across the UK.

Asda Community Champion Joanne Mottershead, from the Ashton-under-Lyne store, recently visited Ashton Youth Project to see how funding makes a difference to local youngsters. Ashton Youth Project receives funding from BBC Children in Need to provide a youth club for children and young people living locally. Attending the project enables the children to develop new skills, improve their confidence and self esteem and improve their physical health and wellbeing. They’re able to take part in fun activities, make new friends and enjoy food and healthy snacks.
Jo Warner, Senior Director of Corporate Responsibility & ESG at AsdaWe know this year will be particularly tough for families facing increased costs over the Summer holiday period, so we’re delighted to partner with BBC Children in Need to provide meals and activities over the holidays. In addition low-cost meals will be available in Asda cafés throughout the summer, with a family of four being able to access a hot, nutritious meal for as little as £8.50
Whether you picked up some Pudsey goodies from George, shopped our Official Tee, or donated online through your local ASDA store – thank you – we really couldn’t do it without you.
