Join Radio 1’s Rickie and Melvin for the Biscuit Build Challenge!
The self-confessed sweet-toothed presenters are taking on the ultimate physical and strategic fundraising challenge… to build a massive tower of biscuits! You can take part too by running a sweepstake in your team. Pick who will successfully place the final biscuit before the tower falls and which biscuit will reign supreme. It’s the easiest £40 you’ll raise ever.
So, why a food challenge? “Look at these cheeks!” said Rickie, “Could we do anything else? And Melvin has the sweetest tooth of anyone I know. It’s perfect.”
“Absolutely. I’d rather have a dessert than a starter any day,” said Melvin, who admitted that he’s banking on a Bourbon as his favoured biscuit for the build. “It’s like a brick. You can use all sides of a Bourbon biscuit. You can’t use a digestive, there are too many risks involved!”
Join the boys in their fundraising fun on the BBC Children in Need Facebook page on Friday at 1pm.
Both DJs have their personal reasons for getting involved in our charity. For Rickie, BBC Children in Need was his first experience of fundraising at a young age. “We did a sponsored walk at primary school with laps around the playground,” he said, “I always want to get involved in the Appeal every year as it’s such a good cause.”
Melvin added: “We’ve done lots of things to support BBC Children in Need over the years. Our audience is young people, so we want show them how much we care about them like they do with us on the show every day.”
Who will be crowned the King of the Biscuits… and who’s cookies will crumble? Find out on Friday.
